History

1936

In 1936, the late Georges N Khawam embarked on his career, overseeing both local and international petroleum companies in Beirut. Through his astute management, he laid a solid foundation for subsequent ventures, carving an impressive path in the industry. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment yielded remarkable achievements, leaving an indelible mark on Beirut's petroleum sector, shaping its future for years to come.

1974

Founded in 1974 at Dora seaside, Nafta Liban swiftly emerged as a respected importer and distributor of refined petroleum products. Through its strategic location and unwavering dedication to excellence, Nafta Liban quickly gained prominence in the industry. Today, it is recognized as a trusted leader, delivering exceptional import and distribution services for refined petroleum products with unrivaled quality.

1984

After the war damaged Nafta's tanks in Beirut, the second generation of the Khawam Family founded Petrolgaz in 1984. The company established Gasoline, Diesel, and LPG storage tanks in Amchit industrial area. Additionally, Petrolgaz established an LPG Bottling plant in the Fanar industrial zone and a Lubricants filling station in Amchit, expanding its operations and services in the region.

The year 2004 marked a significant milestone as the third generation took charge, leading to the evolution of Petrolgaz into Petrolgaz Liban.
